I've been trying to install this mod for a while, unsucesfully. Could anybody help me? Ive been googling my issues with no real answer, seems like everyone can install it with no issues.
These are the steps i follow:. Install Stalker SoC (duh!). Install Patch 1.0005. Decompress gamedata (now the game doesnt run, startup crash). Copy Lurk's gamedata into the main stalker folder (doesnt work neither) I already tried with all the compatibility modes, erasing localization.ltx, replacing original gamedata with the one of the mod, and editing fsgame.ltx (to use the gamedata folder). Im running windows 8, and vanilla works perfectly.

(i've also tried complete and doesn't run neither) Help me fellow cheekis. I never played or installed L.U.R.K., but I don't see the point of decompressing gamedata.
From my experience, mods usually come in a 'gamedata' folder which you have to paste into the game's general directory. Anything in the gamedata folder overrides the content of.db(number) files, so there is not need to extract and compress anything. Perhaps you have the GOG version, I heard that causes trouble for a lot of people. The startup crash is also caused if you install a mod that is not suited for the game's main localization, in that case you will have to download another one from somewhere else.
Now now, fellow STALKERs, I'm sorry if I got your hopes up. Nothing has changed - LURK 1.2 is still not being developed. That is not what this post is about. Several years ago, this page reached 1 million page views and we wanted to do something fun and silly to celebrate that milestone.

So, we made a video in 2012/2013 (can't exactly remember when) and.never got around to posting it. For years, that video has been sitting unlisted on YouTube, alone and neglected. It'd be a shame if it were to be, totally unchanged. Better late than never, right? Just, uh, ignore the bit that says 'it will be done eventually.' you not they all pretty much killed each other, there was like maybe 1-2 people left in the whole Cordon and they took some military dudes with them. It was awesome but kinda game breaking like.the sheer amount of guns and armor and bullets left lying around would have made me rich. A quest npc died though so I had to start a new game and eventually the same thing happened but this time I was ready and helped them fight off the military to save the cordon lol. Just a crazy mod. AI is too accurate though and just at any time the AI life can make completely insane things happen that are cool but gamebreaking.

If you've played the previous version of L.U.R.K., or more specifically 1.0552 or any previous to it, you should know that it is now recommended that you do not use the -noprefetch command in your target box. It is not required to do prefetching this time, however it is recommended now, because we have optimized prefetching data so that it is much, much faster, and will lower the amount of in game stuttering to a degree much more similar to umodified vanilla.
We hope to expand upon this in the future but for now it will only serve to minimalize the stutterring that was otherwise infrequent. Prerequisite Requirements: In terms of system requirements, any system capable of running S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl vanilla should be at the very least scalable to L.U.R.K. Running Full Dynamic Lighting is a much more intensive process now, however if you're experiencing performance issues, then you should refer to step 2 before disabling full dynamic lighting.
Step 1: Copy the gamedata folder into your S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl directory, if you own the retail version, it should look something like this: ' THQ S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl'. Otherwise, you can find the folder in your 'Steam steamapps common' if you own the Steam version. If they're not in either locations then you may own a different version then that and I'd hope that you could elaborate the location of the folder yourself. Otherwise you can use the Windows search function and look for 'StalkerUserManual.pdf' which will lead you to the directory youj will need to copy the contents of the gamedata folder to. Step 2: Choose the graphical settings that best suit your system's specifications in the 'Graphical Settings' folder.
Optimized is best suited for system's with Video Card's with less then 1GB of Graphics Memory, less then 3GB or RAM, and CPU's that are less then two cores or prior to the Core 2 Duo generation for Intel. The changes to the optimized version include less draw distance, no depth of field, less soft Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, lower shadow map resolution, and no dynamic soft shadow jitter. The Gamedata folder defaults all graphical settings to Extreme so it is very important that you refer to this step. Please note that the average system recommendations are rough guesstimates and may be subject to opinion based on your framerate performance preference.

Optional Step: If you are experiencing issues, then you might want to try setting the $gamedata$ lines in your fsgame.ltx both to true. Where are The Options?: They'll come after there's been some cooking time for the current build. Until then I'm more concerned about addressing issues with the existing build before unfurling a load of optionals.

Well for starters the anomalies in 1.1 are pointless, the hand skin and weapon skins they spent forever on really weren't much of an improvement. The sleeping bag being removed made no sense due to the fact that the mod has a completely warped time-scale. I understand the idea that they want you to rest in certain places, but when I leave the Bar at 21:00 hours and its still light out, then sneak my way into the dark valley only to wait 3 literal real life hours for it to get dark enough to sneak through the bandit base, thats a problem. Just pulling out the sleeping bag and resting in a pipe. Not to mention the massive delay that it got at one point because holdenmcclure is a completely inconsistent and erratic asshole who cant make up his mind whether he wants to be project lead or not. It's really fucking annoying. Thanks for your honesty.
I'm one of the lead developers on LURK 1.2 and I'm really interested in some solid feedback of what guys are looking for. That said, I agree on the bizarre time cycle, and I'll make sure that it's accurate to real life this time around.
As for the sleeping bag, the idea of being able to take a nap anywhere you want doesn't sit well with our general design philosophy, but we are looking at placing beds/mattresses around in safe areas of each map which can be slept on. I'm in the middle of a LURK (1.1?) run right now, actually.
I'm putting off going to shut off the Brain Scorcher because. Eh, just because. It feels pretty similar to Vanilla, TBH, but there are a few things I noticed. Your carry weight is pretty drastically lowered (35kg).
Be prepared to leave a LOT of loot behind, or to be walking a LOT as you struggle to drag things back. I've also been known to drag scripted corpses around for particularly lucrative hauls. (I just switched from the Military Armor back to the Angel of Freedom Suit because I needed the extra carry capacity) I can't figure out how to do anything with artifacts except to sell/stash them.
Not sure if this is intentional, or I am just failing at the mod. Hiding in bushes is OP. It's like you become completely invisible. A silencer gives you slightly better accuracy on your weapon. Damage is by ammo type/caliber now. Accuracy is also apparently affected by ammo type now.
If that listed penalty is correct, HP and exploding ammo are both worthless, except at close range. Bandits are amazing sharpshooters with rusted-out Makarovs. Shoot animals/mutants in the head, or you'll be there all day.
It seems to be raining EVERY night. Speaking of raining at night,. (for anyone wondering, I upgraded my video card since those were taken, now it runs at around 35 degrees centigrade) It's referred to as for a reason.

LURK mod.No one seems to remember this one, but it makes the interface completely immersive,. only an ammo counter and a radiation symbol for when you are hit with too many rads. It's absolutely beautiful as well and includes more weapons, REAL weapon names, more types of guns. Only downside is that it removes the use of artifacts. However I'm sure there's a way around that if you google hard enough:P It's a good challenge as long as you don't play on Rookie and the enhanced AI are definitely hard hitting. One quick note is that fighting NPC's in the dark with LURK is a bit of a joke just because they are blind as a bat.Not necessarily a bad thing as they will chew you up and spit your mangled corpse out if they DO see you.

'Escort Kruglov' mission was quite a pain in the♥♥♥♥♥ Was enjoying the mod until then.
